Simple Step-By-Step Water Knot Instructions
Oftentimes people have trouble tying a double overhand knot, if you are having difficulty making this knot you can substitute it with the water knot. The water knot (also known as a tape knot, ring bend, grass knot, or overhand follow-through) is often used when making horse halters.
Simple Water Knot Instructions:
Step 1: Take a piece of rope and cross it over itself. Take one end and pull it under similar to the first step when tying your shoes. Next, you'll pull it tight leaving a bit loose so you can complete your knot later.
Step 2: Take your second piece of rope and feed it through the center of the existing knot.
Step 3: Looping under the first rope, continue guiding it through the knot alongside the first piece of rope.
Step 4: Guide the top end of the rope through the center of the first rope and tighten to create the knot!
