Rope by the foot is listed as 1ft. This rope will come in a continuous length. For example, if you ordered 10 feet of rope, you will be shipped 10 continuous feet of rope and not 10, 1ft. pieces.
Approx. Tensile Strength: 2,031 lbs.
Rope Construction: Double Braid Polyester
A double braid rope refers to a braided rope cover over a braided rope core. Basically, it is a rope over another rope. These ropes are often flexible and easy to handle. Most double braid ropes are spliceable. Double braid rope is often called yacht braid and can be made with combinations of fibers or the same fibers. To get a stiffer or firmer double braid rope, the cover can be braided tighter which increases its “hardness.”
**This rope is a firm rope and very difficult if not impossible to splice. It is a braided rope over another braided rope, however it has a tighter braid in the cover to stiffen the rope. This is a great rope. Although it is tighter and stiffer than most double braids, it is not as stiff as halter cords. Previously called 12 Pick.
Rope Fibers: Polyester over Polyester
Due to its strength, low stretch, excellent sunlight resistance, and excellent abrasion resistance properties, polyester is a preferred fiber for many natural horse trainers.
Horse Rope Halters
General Purpose Rope
This rope can also be purchased by the spool:
The firmness is flexible enough for knotting, firm enough to hold its shape, and yet has enough 'yes ma'am' in it to handle a horse.
Ordered this for a client that wanted several halters in stable colors (burgandy, black & tan). She loved it and it worked up beautifully.
Bought this rope to tie horse halters, it was great, flexible enough to work with yet firm enough to hold shape.
I bought 3 different kinds of rope to tie halters and this one is my favorite. The knots stay tight and it has a good feel.
Quality rope for rope halters. I have some Lazy K Corral rope halters that use this rope. I carefully looked through the choices at CBKnot and independently selected the same rope. Firm is important to me. Not flimsy. Not stiff.
Makes good halters
This cord is perfect. A bit stuff but flexible enough to tie knots in, no stretch as far as I could see. Great color, too.
Holds its shape well, which makes it easy to get over the horses nose!
I intend to use this double braid polyester rope for a
roller furler halyard. The cover has a very dense weave. The standard double braid I was using did not last because the cam cleat chewed it up. The dense cover should stand up to the metal teeth on the cleat.
