Not a fan of the mechanism
I thought I'd try this snap since you see them everywhere. I found it fiddly to open or close with one hand. Then the set screws backed out and the entire snap exploded open suddenly while I was leading my horse. I managed to find all the pieces and reassemble (with some loctite), but I won't trust it again. In hindsight, a design with so many small moving parts was bound to fail, not the best choice on my part. I greatly prefer the Buffalo snap or trigger bull snaps for reliable operation -- plus they are easy to operate one-handed. As always, CB shipping was quick and the transaction was smooth - no complaints there - they're an excellent retailer.

Love their ropes, hardware and customer service!
Columbia Basin was kind enough to donate some halters and ropes to our therapeutic riding program. I had to order the hardware for the lead ropes. It was really easy to order. The product/hardware was at my door within the week. All of the clips came in good working order and just what we needed! We love this company! They're very kind and helpful and followed up to make sure we got what we wanted. I would recommend them highly!

High quality but a bit heavy.
I bought these snaps to make lead ropes. The snaps are very high quality for a good price. I found them to be heavier than ideal at 6.5 oz. Something around 4 oz would be better. Unfortunately I have not found any at that weight yet.
