5 Survival Knots EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW!

1. Noose Knot

This knot is used to secure a rope to a post. It is also used to attach a hook, swivel or lure to your fishing line.

2. Overhand Knot

This is a very basic knot used as a stopper to prevent the end of the rope from passing through a different knot.

3. Split Knot

This is often used in animal snares, knitting, and constructing shelters. Like the noose, it will tighten around an object when the tail is pulled.

4. Half Hitch Knot

This is like an overhand knot but tied to an object. It's great for securing a rope to something, but won't hold a heavy load.

5. Figure 8 Knot

This is for the mountain climbers and sailors! It stops ropes from running out of retaining devices and a tie-in knot. This rope is easy to inspect and very strong.
